"Reality Gap" - A Must Read! |
| |
Reality Gap, a new book by
CCSC Resident Camp Director Stephen Wallace,
paints a portrait of modern-day adolescence full
of potentially deadly behaviors, carefully
hidden from parents and adults. But it is also a
book about hope and inspiration, pointing to the
powerful role that parents and other mentors
play in the lives of young people and
highlighting the positive contributions that
many teens are making to their families,
schools, and communities. This book is a "must
read" for parents!

Earth Day 2008
On April 16th Cape Cod Sea Camps celebrated
our own version of Earth Day!
We
turned off the phones, shut down our computers, and our
year round staff went outside and got dirty. Activities
included planting flowers, blueberry bushes, trees,
grass, and an all camp trash cleanup. Our CCSC Earth
Day 2008 was a huge success!
Over the past couple of years we have put a greater
emphasis on our own small environment here at Camp.
Some of these changes include switching to energy
efficient light bulbs, shutting off water and heat in
the cabins when not in use, recycling cardboard, paper,
and scrap metal, and being more conscious of our energy
use.
So when your group comes to camp, try to help us stay
Green by shutting off lights, turning off the water when
not in use, and making sure that your trash and
recycling go in the right areas. We may not be able to
change the world, but we can certainly make a change in
our own little community!
